FBR Staff Writer Published 01 February 2012

China's leading food company Uni-President Enterprises plans to invest $100m to build a factory in Jiangsu province in China.

The new 40,000ft² factory will be built in two phases. It will feature one production line for pudding products, eight beverage production lines, research and development center, as well as office buildings.

Last year, the company announced plans to invest $412.47m to build factories in Zhangzhou, Fujian Province and Chengdu, Sichuan Province, in order to boost its instant noodle production by an estimated 50%.

Uni-President engages in the manufacture and sale of instant noodles and beverages in China. Its primary beverage products include milk, tea, coffee, bottled water, yogurt, juice drinks and ready to drink teas.

Its first factory in Kunshan was built in 1993 with an investment of $143m and remains the group's largest factory in mainland China.
